Vestry Notes ....
September's Vestry meeting was held on the 18th of the Month. The meeting was opened by Father Dan with prayer and the Secretary's and Treasurer's reports were read and accepted. Father Dan noted that he has been very pleased with the attendance on Sunday services throughout the summer. In old business, Rich Evans stated that he was in the process of contacting suppliers in order to receive a better price on heating oil. Also, we should be receiving a statement regarding our investment with the Diocese for the last quarter. The dividend is to be rolled back into the principal investment. Our pancake breakfast on September 10th went very well with a profit of $614.50. Thank you to all who volunteered and supported this project. As for new business, Fall Cleanup will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, at 9:00AM. We will be holding a Veteran's Day service on Friday, November 11th, at 7:00PM. A special invitation goes out to all Veteran's to join us. Our annual meeting will be held Sunday, November 13th following service, all our encouraged to attend. We have a few openings on the Vestry, anyone wishing to serve should contact Archie. On the finance side, Finance Chairman, Rich Evans, would like to include a letter in October's newsletter informing our congregation of our financial status. Father Dan suggested we contact Dan Charney to come speak on stewardship. Jane and Doug Evans would like to setup St. Martin's as a center point for disaster victims in need. At this time, they would like to concentrate on the flood victims in the town of Shickshinny. Jane will have more information going forward. A donation of $50 was sent to the Red Cross flood relief fund and $50 was sent to the Episcopal Church Women for uniforms for school children in Kajo Keji.
With no new business, Father Dan led us in a closing prayer.
Our next Vestry meeting will be held Sunday, October 16th, following coffee hour.
